In my childhood I made combinations of the weirdest colours.
I started to experiment with drawing-pencils, watercolour and warily oil.
On my 14th birthday I got my first painting box. As an adult I was still excited about blending paint and the results. My father made a large painting box for me with several sections with reclosable lids for my tubes, brushes and palettes.
The landscape is a very important theme to me. Above all I pay attention to the complicated structures of the lines, the perspectives, the light and the various shapes. I make photographs of the landscapes. In my studio I extract elements from these photographs to make the first sketches.
At the same moment I compose my palette by registering my color-mixtures on colourcards. When painting with oil I prefer the wet-in-wet technique. With acrylic paint I use transparent layers.
Discovering the boundaries between realism and the abstract is still the greatest challenge. Photography is the basis for my own creations whereas commission work is carried out according to set objectives.
